Little 2-5/8″ EDC in S35VN and a scrap of ironwood left over from another project. This knife started longer, but it got a little unplanned rhinoplasty. Great little belt-finished EDC now:
Jim’s Winter Hunter, 10 years later
Wow, Jim taught me to hunt YEARS ago now, and he has one of my earliest hunting patterns from 2011. He sends late 2020 pix of his 3″ “Rhode Island Winter Hunter” in O1 sporting ivory paper micarta over red liners w/ a 1000x hand-brushed finish. In 2012, we skinned, disassembled, and boned-out a deer in my basement using this and my own 3″ hunter in A2. Plenty of other blades at hand, but these were the right tools.
AuK4 processing ducks
Slightly gruesome pix warning
And a recent AuK4 goes right to work processing ducks!
Brace of AuK4s in CPM-154
Last knives of 2020!
This matched pair of AuK4s in ~0.140″ CPM-154 is sporting Kabar micarta BK62 scales and Kabar/Becker Short sheaths. Both have tapered tangs, hidden lanyard hole, control ricasso, and a kiln finish.
Pellet Bag Slaughtering Knife
Finally finished this commission that’s been in progress awhile: a kosher-slaughtering-style knife for ritual sacrifice of wood-pellet bags. Imagine holding a large wood pellet bag in a headlock against your chest and sort of cutting its throat (or perhaps gut) to spill all the contents into the pellet stove hopper. Purpose-driven design. 🙂 With sacrifice-traditional ram’s horn scales over ruby red G10 liners. First use of flared tubes. Blade is 5+” of differentially hardened 1084.
