Another one for my shipmates, nearly complete except for sheath and edge. This 5.125″ blade was hand-forged from half of a E/V Nautilus #rudderbearing, brass bolster from the bearing cage, wearing Ocean Depths Gcarta from @g.l._hansenandsons.

This paring knife is my first integral, hand-forged from an E/V Nautilus rudder bearing (see story here). Handle is “Ocean Depths” Gcarta from G.L. Hansen&Sons.
Rigging Knife in NRB and Ocean Depths Gcarta
This rigging knife was hand-forged from 1/4 of an E/V Nautilus (@nautiluslive) #rudderbearing. Bolster is micarta and G10, with a haft of G.L. Hansen&Sons “Ocean Depths” Gcarta.
Hand-forged Petty Chef
Brute de Forge-style 6″x1.6″ petty chef forged from 3.5″ of truck coil spring from Avedis’s shop. The bolster is a piece of the E/V Nautilus (@nautiluslive) rudder bearing assembly, and a scrap of white oak. 61Rc.
Rudder Bearing Scrap Knife in File Handle
This 1-hour forging demo with a tiny scrap of Rudder Bearing turned out rather useful. A spare file handle finished it all out quickly.
