Wow, Jim taught me to hunt YEARS ago now, and he has one of my earliest hunting patterns from 2011. He sends late 2020 pix of his 3″ “Rhode Island Winter Hunter” in O1 sporting ivory paper micarta over red liners w/ a 1000x hand-brushed finish. In 2012, we skinned, disassembled, and boned-out a deer in my basement using this and my own 3″ hunter in A2. Plenty of other blades at hand, but these were the right tools.

Justin’s Birudashi Exploring Nikumaroro
This has got to be the most far-flung picture of a Gold Knifeworks piece to date! Justin sends this picture of his birudashi in the sand while exploring Nikumaroro in search of Amelia Earhart on the August 2019 E/V Nautilus expedition.
Birudashi at the Beach
Murph shows us how it’s done by taking his birudashi on a beach vacation!
Kyle’s expedition knife, a year later
Kyle arrived at the ship with his now over-one-year-old knife in tow. It’s been on numerous camping and hiking trips, including to Patagonia and back! The A2 is slowly developing a patina.
